The Foundation
The Marjorie Deane Financial Journalism Foundation was founded in 1998 by Marjorie Deane (1914-2008), a financial journalist who worked at The Economist. The foundation offers internships at The Economist and the Financial Times. It also supports professorships and sponsors students undertaking postgraduate degrees in financial journalism at City University of London and New York University.
Many former interns and students go on to successful careers in journalism at media outlets around the world.
